Birthday Count Down { 2 MORE DAYS! } Sneak #9... fabric embellishment tutorial!

Only 2 more days until the big reveal! Are you excited yet?!? I know I am! And, the fun just keeps on going around here. Today, I have a fun tutorial on how to make your own fabric embellishments and a couple of sneaks to share with you. But, let's start with a little Q&A, shall we?

1. If I could be in any infomercial, I would pick (product name), because:

Gosh, I really dislike infomercials. To be honest, as soon as they come on the tv... I immediate switch the channel. Obviously, I'm not even all that aware of which products are being pimped out via the latest infomercials. But, I do vaguely remember recently seeing one about the Cricut die cutting machine, so I suppose I would choose that. I've always wanted to know if that thing works as well (and easily) as they say it does. Even if it did, I still don't think I'd shell out the $ for it. LOL!

2. If I could be any character from a movie, I would be ______ from ______, because:

Kate Winslet from The Holiday... for no other reason than I would L.O.V.E. to live in that little cottage! It was such a dreamy little home. And, apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks so. There are plenty of people that actually travel to Surrey, England looking for that cottage. There's an interesting little article about it here.

3. If my life story was to be written as a novel, the title would be:

Square Peg, Round Hole. I spent years of my life trying to force things to work that simply weren't meant to. But, once I started to follow my heart and passions in life, things fell into place. An important lesson to be learned...

4. I always wanted to be a:

A creative director for music videos. I've always been enthralled how musicians personify the meanings behind their music into a visual performance. I would love to be a part of that creative process.

5. If I can only give my children one piece of advice, it would be:

Not to worry so much about making other people happy. In the end, everyone is responsible for their own happiness. You can't live your life making decisions based on someone else's desires, or YOU will end up being the unhappy one.

6. Three things I want very badly at the moment are:

a) Another vacation... particularly, another cruise. I am just addicted to traveling lately. LOL!
b) Good health for myself and my family.
c) Sushi. I had the BEST sushi on vacation in Orlando, and I've been craving it ever since!

7. What is your process for creating layouts as you receive Labe Tulip kit? Do you start with photos, paper, a sketch, or something else?

I start by printing out and selecting the photos I want to work with even before my kit arrives. Once I receive everything, I start selecting papers that will work with each of the photos. Then, I get my basic layout design figured out, and start adding the embellishments. I tend to rearrange things on my page several times before I get it just the way I want it, so I never stick anything down until I'm absolutely positive it's the way I want it!

8. I had the BEST time creating this layout using my Label Tulip kit:

I still adore that layout from last November's kits! It is my most favorite picture from my childhood, and I'm really pleased with how the page came together!

9. Show us your sneaks for Label Tulip's July kit!

Now that brings us to my fabric embellishment tutorial, where you will learn how to make something similar to this...

I apologize in advance for not having the mad video editing skills that Julie does. I need a little more practice. ;0) But, away we go...

Thank you for joining me today to help Label Tulip celebrate our 2nd birthday! And, we can't end the day without offering a little prize pack for our readers, now can we? Just leave me a comment on this post to be eligible to win this HUGE assortment of gorgeous papers...

Happy Monday everyone!

xo,
Holly

PS: I just wanted to remind you that the deadline for all the challenges is tomorrow at 6PM(PST)!

I can picture myself on the floor in my guest room, spreading the papers out to check out the loot, putting them together in mock future layouts, spreading them out again and rearranging, dragging embellishments out just to "try them out" then organizing the papers into their resting spots until I can scrap them for real! That sounds like an afternoon in heaven!
