**Show ME Your SPACE**

I'd LOVE to see where YOU create!

Let me introduce you to my little space I like to call my
scrapbook paradise :D

See I told you it's itty bitty...but it's where I love to be & create.
My fave thing in my space? My home made shelves! My talented husband
created those for me! Isn't he the best? :D
(A couple of things have changed in here though...I've only got 1 lamp on my desk
and the laptop is kaput...it's been replaced with a new desktop.)
Let's see yours!
Just upload to the Label Tulip Forums & link us up! :D

**The Gallery....Revealed**

The Tulip Girls REALLY outdid themselves this month on their creations.
I just wanted to share which were my very faves from each girl....
(can I tell you how hard it was to choose just ONE???)

Our first layout comes from our Guest Girl - Dina Wakley...
I totally DIG the technique Dina used with the chipboard & the
Glimmer Mist. Gorgeous , simply gorgeous. Incredible design!

And our Coordinator - Holly....wow.

Beautiful colors, beautiful use of the LT stamps, the techniques
Holly used just blow me away. Amazing page Holly!
How can you RESIST this sweet face of Alexis's beautiful girl?
The butterflies are gorgeous as they POP off here! Love your layering too!

Another GORGEOUS page by Amanda. The way she made the circles,
the fun colors...and I ADORE how she backed her journaling spots
using the felt from the kit! GENIUS girl...beautiful page :D

Charity sure knows how to create! Look how she framed her
pretty little sunshine girl with the chipboard pieces (love them!) and the strips
of papers. Amazing way to use the stamp too. :D

Julie is the QUEEN of techniques. I bow down to her!
She really KNOCKED this one out of the ballpark.
The butterflies are so pretty. I love this technique she did. :D
LOOK how cute she is! :D
Thanks to Julie - I'm beginning to learn fun new techniques!
Thank you all for sharing your creations. I can't stop looking at
the gallery! You all amaze me :D

Quick Card Tutorial

Here's a quick card tutorial using the Label Tulip February Kit (and just in time for Valentine's Day!):

Supplies:

STEP ONE: Create Your Stencil

Draw a collection of six hearts on a piece of white cardstock. Using your craft knife, cut out the hearts.

StencilsCut

Now you have your stencil.

STEP TWO: Create Your Background

Starting from a gentle middle distance, spray a light coating of the Glimmer Mist onto the Collage Press Journaling Card, through the stencil.

SprayedStencil

Let it dry. Once dry, adhere it to your card blank.

STEP THREE: Add Your Heart

Cut a heart from a scrap of patterned paper. Decorate it using your Zig 2-way glue pen and then immediately cover it in glitter. Shake off the excess glitter.

GlitteredHeart

Adhere it to your card using foam adhesive.

STEP FOUR: Create Your Felt Circles

Cut five circles of varying sizes from the felt. Using a Sakura Pigma Micron, "inline" the circles.

FeltCircles

Adhere the circles to your card, being sure to go over the edges of the Journaling Card.

STEP FIVE: Add Your Sentiment

Using your Sakura Pigma Micron, write in your sentiment.

Sentiment

And you're done! Here's the finished card:

If you make one, we'd love to see it, so come back and link it up! Have a great day!

Winner, winner chicken dinner!

First of all, I would like to thank everyone who shared their first pages with us! It was so much fun to see what everyone's starting point was, and I enjoyed looking at all of them.

And, now it's time to pick a winner to receive this little set of new CHA goodies:

So, I threw all the names of everyone that participated into a hat, and asked my DD to pick a name. "I pick Cassidy, Mom. I like that name." She was so upset when she found out she wasn't able to just pick her favorite name out of thin air and, instead, had to draw one from a hat. LOL! Once I finally coaxed her into drawing, she pulled out scrap-myself-silly, who shared this layout with us:

What a gorgeous first page! Wouldn't you agree? So, scrap-myself-silly... send Cindee and Cathy an e-mail at info@labeltulip.com with your mailing address so that they can pop your goodies in the mail to you. And, be sure to put "Blog Challenge Winner" in the subject line. Again, thank you so much to everyone who participated! I really had a great time with this challenge, and I hope you did too! :0)

First tries...

I can remember it like it was yesterday. Sitting at my desk, a couple of sheets of patterned paper and cardstock, a few packages of embellishments, some paint, glue, an eyelet setter, and a picture of my daughter's first visit to Santa Claus at my side. It was before I became totally addicted to this hobby... before my hobby required its own room in my house. That little stack on the side of my desk was just about all of the scrapbooking supplies I had to my name. And, to be honest, at that time, I wasn't really sure I would even like this hobby.

A few of my stamping and altered book friends kept trying to convince me to try scrapbooking. But, all I could picture when the word "scrapbooking" came to mind were cheesy die cuts, silly stickers, and some photos that were punched into various shapes. Then, one day, I wandered into a scrapbooking store full of more product than I could possibly imagine. It wasn't just die cuts, stickers, and construction paper. There was a whole world of possibilities! It was all I could do not to buy one of everything in the store. But, I carefully selected a few packages of odds and ends, some papers that I liked, and off I went.

Those supplies sat in my plastic Iris cart for months. Every time I pulled out a sheet of 12x12 paper, I was totally overwhelmed. Where would I begin? That square foot of space seemed nearly impossible to fill. I was totally intimidated. And, every time, I would just end up putting my supplies back in the drawer... completely unused.

Then, we moved... all the way from Alaska to Texas. And, we drove that whole way. Before we left, I stocked up on a few scrapbooking magazines, and devoured each and every one of them throughout that trip. I was left feeling completely inspired! As soon as we got settled into our new house, I couldn't wait to get started on actually sticking something down on those expansive sheets of 12x12 paper. With ideas spinning all around in my head, I just sat down one day and did it. I made my first page. And, I loved it! That was the start of my addiction, and I've never looked back since.

So, I thought it would be fun if we all shared our first pages. I'll show you mine... if you show me yours. Deal? Deal. Don't be shy. We all had to start somewhere. And, to reward your bravery, there's a sweet little something in it for you. How about a nice little package from Label Tulip full of some of the latest goodies off the CHA showroom floor? Sounds good, right? All you have to do is post a link to your first page in the comments here. I don't care if it's in a gallery, or in your Flickr account. Just post it up! Everyone that shares will be entered to win the RAK that Cindee and Cathy were so kind to put together for us!

So, without further ado, here's my first page...

Now, it's your turn! You have until 11:59 pm PST on Saturday to post the links. I'll be back on Sunday to announce a winner, and here's a picture of the goods that lucky winner will receive...

Now, get to linkin'! ;0)

xo,
Holly
