I am deeply sorry for the time it has taken me to communicate to everyone -- I know many of you have tried to contact me and have been unable to do so. I have been sick for quite some time and unable to look at myself type on the computer -- I saw a dr on Monday and although I need testing to confirm it, he thinks I have Meniere's Disease, a form of motion sickness. I have been taking Dramamine for several days now and it seems to be working. Thank goodness! I have had a lot to catch up on but can assure you that by the end of this weekend, everything will be on time. I have also hired someone to help me kit and ship each month; in retrospect I should have done this when I took over, but I wasn't sure if I would need the help or not -- part of the learning curve in taking over a new business!<br /><br />The October Kits are shipping out today and tomorrow. I had a usps pickup scheduled for Monday but the postman did not show. Although members are billed between the 10th and the 14th, kits normally ship between the 20th and the 24th of each month -- this gives our customers enough time to add any additional add-ons or products you might want for a minimal additional fee for shipping. So, I'm running about 2 weeks late on the shipment and I truly apologize for that and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you are still uncertain about Label Tulip's schedule, or if you would like to see additional dates, please visit http://www.labeltulip.com/schedule.shtml<br /><br />November kits are on time and scheduled to be released on the 15th, with our customer-only pre-release scheduled for the 14th. November kits will be shipped during regularly scheduled shipping dates, 20th-24th.<br /><br />This message will be posted on our message boards as well. I again appreciate everyone's patience and understanding throughout this month as I've struggled to figure out what is going on, it has been a hard month and I feel so bad that many of you have not been replied to in a timely manner. I can assure you that this will not continue to happen.<br /><br />Many Thanks and Hugs,<br />Jennifer<br /><br />**Update<br />There have been a few questions regarding the September kits: All of the September kits have been shipped; if you have not received your September kit or a shipping notice regarding your kit, please email us and let us know at info@labeltulip.com Thanks!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com29tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-23719606106995645462009-11-06T05:44:00.001-08:002009-11-06T05:51:22.285-08:00A quick tip.<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;"></span><br />

Recently I created a layout that I felt was just not quite "there" yet. It was for a challenge site and it was one of those times I had to just walk away and e.mail it the way it was.<br />
<br />
Now, let me say I totally agree with the saying that sometimes we should embrace the imperfections we might see. I do it on a frequent basis. But, we are telling OUR story and I say, if you feel as though your story is incomplete, go ahead and finish it up!<br />
<br />
I would walk by this layout everyday and it finally "hit" me. I knew what I needed to do to make the story complete. I'm the type of person that expresses my feelings with words (hence, the LOVE I have with song lyrics). Words can evoke deep feelings for me.<br />
<br />
Here is the layout before:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_MFgNoLuwpU4/SvD0Lq5Ga0I/AAAAAAAABR8/4eha59LW8J4/s1600-h/IMG_0155.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_MFgNoLuwpU4/SvD0Lq5Ga0I/AAAAAAAABR8/4eha59LW8J4/s400/IMG_0155.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><br />
<br />
<br />
Here is the completed layout:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_MFgNoLuwpU4/SvD0l4XgezI/AAAAAAAABSE/5PZNwSFXlig/s1600-h/dedrastamplayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_MFgNoLuwpU4/SvD0l4XgezI/AAAAAAAABSE/5PZNwSFXlig/s400/dedrastamplayout.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
<br />
On the updated version of this layout I stamped onto the tags and added them off to the side of the photo. Having such meaningful phrases and words next to Jon and I hit just the right spot.<br />
<br />
I never "re-visit" layouts but having done so with this one, if I feel a story just isn't quite told yet I will be looking at the layout/project again.<br />
So, do you re-visit layouts or projects, adding little details here and there that support your story after you thought it was complete? <br />

How about a Lollipop Bouquet? I made this one with Dream Street's new Superstition line of chipboard, papers and rub ons.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW1FjtjYaLagvsFH2T35wNsuYDMovH6w4FFNWx81sGrEOc43CW1h73HcOx_y6jjkxzmii5D8xsvgeLUEZnuGd8nxfy-gKigEgkOebzuH4jJ2A2qOlBrpYgtQSxsMVShiJWtCEvaUssR1x1/s1600-h/lollipop+box1+%28Small%29.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 306px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW1FjtjYaLagvsFH2T35wNsuYDMovH6w4FFNWx81sGrEOc43CW1h73HcOx_y6jjkxzmii5D8xsvgeLUEZnuGd8nxfy-gKigEgkOebzuH4jJ2A2qOlBrpYgtQSxsMVShiJWtCEvaUssR1x1/s400/lollipop+box1+%28Small%29.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5398021888412392210" border="0" /></a>I found a box at the craft store and covered with paper, added chipboard around the top of the box and a "trick or treat" rub on. Next, I inserted some floral foam down into the box (you can glue it in with a hot glue gun) and covered the top with some webbing. Lastly, I poked the lollipops into the foam. You can add little signs as I did here by adhering little chipboard sayings to bamboo skewers.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRptj3yN6GUjlbLOTE8L0UiRWqKJoIWinwzqS-pI309eaMhtEwSJZ8o-vSb3J2GaHss5kpLTjv34Dj6mFBujoYLZhxWMTFMEuiN-jtRdpXEn2gDuG25TAcidWnc4QpbeyOVrgLL1iPLfAT/s1600-h/box+up+close3.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 285px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRptj3yN6GUjlbLOTE8L0UiRWqKJoIWinwzqS-pI309eaMhtEwSJZ8o-vSb3J2GaHss5kpLTjv34Dj6mFBujoYLZhxWMTFMEuiN-jtRdpXEn2gDuG25TAcidWnc4QpbeyOVrgLL1iPLfAT/s400/box+up+close3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5398022336133913058" border="0" /></a><span style="font-style: italic;">To create the lollipop creatures:</span><br />1. Spider - Cut a circle from the patterned paper about 2 1/2 inches around. Distress edges. Punch 2 small circles in the lower body of the spider to slide lollipop through. Add chipboard photo corners for legs with glue dots adhered to the back of the body. Lastly, punch hole in the chipboard tag and tie it onto the lollipop with a bit of twine.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXjU8hPRaZ8TSH6pSdf1nP66ugOD3eD3Qc6EZwY1hyYmB0pd1YaGMK-13qv04jiRvNurY4ZNXE-Y4wH-O2jWaZNm8fTjPizu5J8jTI5razpqFeKG5SnO0sPs214Wo-i4Tz5SMioDyiV4Zo/s1600-h/lollipop+spider.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 296px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXjU8hPRaZ8TSH6pSdf1nP66ugOD3eD3Qc6EZwY1hyYmB0pd1YaGMK-13qv04jiRvNurY4ZNXE-Y4wH-O2jWaZNm8fTjPizu5J8jTI5razpqFeKG5SnO0sPs214Wo-i4Tz5SMioDyiV4Zo/s400/lollipop+spider.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5398022936205135474" border="0" /></a>2. Ghost - Cut a ghost shape from patterned paper. Punch 2 small circles from black paper for the eyes. Punch 2 small holes near bottom of ghost to insert the lollipop stick. Cut "beware" strip from patterned paper and attach to bottom of ghost. Add chipboard piece to ghost.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8n6N47-xnDOHvmkWmwKndq72KiJTNUeWvpgGPECxJapISTMGbgh25Z-qGfGCix5s1DU2aJChFrBGRDk2BIXLxq9vjRVNXqOIQMLFaBHnk7EeF1cdIxShef1GUC0jCnYfRzleO78aE9kLf/s1600-h/spider+and+ghost+%28Small%29.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 342px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8n6N47-xnDOHvmkWmwKndq72KiJTNUeWvpgGPECxJapISTMGbgh25Z-qGfGCix5s1DU2aJChFrBGRDk2BIXLxq9vjRVNXqOIQMLFaBHnk7EeF1cdIxShef1GUC0jCnYfRzleO78aE9kLf/s400/spider+and+ghost+%28Small%29.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5398021745492575602" border="0" /></a>You can just poke these little guys into the foam and they are a cute addition. Cut any width of ribbon about 12" long or so. The ribbon I used is 1 and 1/2" wide.<br />2. Thread a needle with embroidery floss. You can use any color of floss, because it will not show.<br />3. Run needle up and down all the way along the length of the ribbon about 1/2" from the edge. Leave a tail of floss at each end.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDcdf8yLbJ-W_ewOkw5X8y5Hcp3r2sAtnL2d68PniNwVzmCimrkAmsth4v5oE0CIyuk6WI4ZW6qKPyHUU31LJjiA97JDvtHRxasveT9zkN6tHcrYhGwBu26u_30fE8jFCvBGWG3D9trvYY/s1600-h/ribbon1+%28Large%29.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 314px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDcdf8yLbJ-W_ewOkw5X8y5Hcp3r2sAtnL2d68PniNwVzmCimrkAmsth4v5oE0CIyuk6WI4ZW6qKPyHUU31LJjiA97JDvtHRxasveT9zkN6tHcrYhGwBu26u_30fE8jFCvBGWG3D9trvYY/s400/ribbon1+%28Large%29.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5397271839031182850" border="0" /></a>4. Or well okay I do ha ha. I tend to do that because I love to edit my pictures and or playing around with different softwares I have such as Photoshop Elements 7, Adobe Lightroom 2 and CS3. I try and also find quicker ways to play with photo's when I have no time.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaTRXXfLArG4RJOA8UR4eWkyL2vEt1Cfryt6Vba5AP5JOipGpOwVVFOLWpiq5PabyOybgB9U-d4KlvAutKuZH4eg2svJjfBSSLor8_cLpDBv3pe_0RNM83DoqtLktl-svN3a77nhEjsmFW/s1600-h/Boy+cross+process.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 246px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaTRXXfLArG4RJOA8UR4eWkyL2vEt1Cfryt6Vba5AP5JOipGpOwVVFOLWpiq5PabyOybgB9U-d4KlvAutKuZH4eg2svJjfBSSLor8_cLpDBv3pe_0RNM83DoqtLktl-svN3a77nhEjsmFW/s400/Boy+cross+process.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395930128579629730" border="0" /></a><br />One website I love love to use alot especially when I am designing my blog, playing with photos and just need a quick watermark is <a href="http://www.picnik.com/">Picnik</a>. I love Picnik. Honestly I use to use <a href="http://www.bighugelabs.com/">Big Huge Labs</a> for all my mosaic tile pics but now I go to Picnik for everything. You can also use Picasa 3.<br /><br />Here is an example of a mosaic photo of Elijah using Picnik the washes I used were Cross Process and 1960's option (fading the tint in and out as I wanted):<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjToSm4rMNEB7XubeTECn4CIVvQBb4KhM4y9RuY3s7eBQWIRmp_CiDzPGz0DZUFwK4P2K8eSpB0VR1a0_MGcXdubNsjp1_JqASz13DhBfmUaTaj8zzT18P2Jvysa4fsv4baZZCZK8wRyNne/s1600-h/Elijah+Collage+.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjToSm4rMNEB7XubeTECn4CIVvQBb4KhM4y9RuY3s7eBQWIRmp_CiDzPGz0DZUFwK4P2K8eSpB0VR1a0_MGcXdubNsjp1_JqASz13DhBfmUaTaj8zzT18P2Jvysa4fsv4baZZCZK8wRyNne/s400/Elijah+Collage+.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395927068173809330" border="0" /></a>Now below I took some of the same pictures and used the duo-tone option in Picnik to play with the colors depending on what papers I wanted to use and or what I plan on doing with the layout especially when using sketches.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-gKCznRy_AJjmF1ZXsVTOPmpVWemEXlSNyw3zRgWgcKb2j98Z6pPSMnLl_80rr_AInBRvelRZvhs68xrjgQ759TouH5WzrLe50-3AtlJL0eRr-0HUzT7Gu_QJSTo1msoUDMVZ6LtxG106/s1600-h/elijah.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 286px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-gKCznRy_AJjmF1ZXsVTOPmpVWemEXlSNyw3zRgWgcKb2j98Z6pPSMnLl_80rr_AInBRvelRZvhs68xrjgQ759TouH5WzrLe50-3AtlJL0eRr-0HUzT7Gu_QJSTo1msoUDMVZ6LtxG106/s400/elijah.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395927976382811330" border="0" /></a><br />So remember there is so much you can do with photos and layouts. Especially if you do not own some of the pricier photo editing softwares . . go and use the free ones. Now I will say this yes Picnik is free but you can use ALL the options for a small fee for the entires year under $30.<br /><br />Happy Editing.<br />Sasha Holloway<br />Tulip GirlA Soldier Girlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04617129776215788204noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-84515283022582338272009-10-20T00:00:00.000-07:002009-10-20T00:41:41.708-07:00See and Scrap ...What draws you in to a layout?<br /><br />Is it the scrapbooker themselves?<br /><br />The style that they use to do their pages?<br /><br />I often find myself drawn to the style and or just overall scheme of it all .. there are so many talented ladies out there in my opinion that you have no time to follow a name. I honestly look at the layout, I gasp and shake my head in amazement and then I look to see who this diva is that has completely left me speechless .. of course I am a fan of many .. but I am open minded to the fact that everyone has a different interpretation of expression using paper and glue dots.<br /><br />Take this month's kit for example:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPwMXxrisfbOAVEixTgH2GutH1Ak-uVDimliNSKR4D_DXAPQTByEstZe-KKXjw7xBXzfN5_B-TR5krZG1m3ybCorrZnqOIvTed-uACf5mYtYJCXSWmAL05LSSe_4J8q9kEthAhk8nb_6Tw/s1600-h/Octobermaincompletesmall.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 174px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPwMXxrisfbOAVEixTgH2GutH1Ak-uVDimliNSKR4D_DXAPQTByEstZe-KKXjw7xBXzfN5_B-TR5krZG1m3ybCorrZnqOIvTed-uACf5mYtYJCXSWmAL05LSSe_4J8q9kEthAhk8nb_6Tw/s400/Octobermaincompletesmall.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394578425361243314" border="0" /></a></div>we all received the same kit .. but what amazes me is how we all had a different take on the same paper .. and each produced great layouts that are still inspiring and incredible. The team is so diverse that each style expressed a different vision but left you feeling and or having the same emotion.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYJwneCzq6tv5ZW7jQQJG332aF88Dg5MjhGR9f9WPGqQxBdSVq2mLGBTYLymhnQPf592PPPlQhxA7gPLIiyxPECNXLh_RPj8oUBh_Hmz9FDLsTNg8wQ2yaBrsbae4ly64eft5gx9uyI_Fu/s1600-h/sasha3_large.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 393px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYJwneCzq6tv5ZW7jQQJG332aF88Dg5MjhGR9f9WPGqQxBdSVq2mLGBTYLymhnQPf592PPPlQhxA7gPLIiyxPECNXLh_RPj8oUBh_Hmz9FDLsTNg8wQ2yaBrsbae4ly64eft5gx9uyI_Fu/s400/sasha3_large.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394580440317542786" border="0" /></a>So what is your take on a layout? Do you feel revived and refreshed when you receive that new kit in the mail and you just take in a deep breathe and start creating .. or do you get nervous and take a step back before you indulge in the goodness .. how often do you find yourself saying .. dang I wish I could scrap like her?<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Once you realize you can and stay true to who you are</span> .. you will find and keep the fun in creating and still feel good about what you did .. no matter how many papers you can fit on one layout.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Just remember no matter what you think .. have fun creating for YOU!</span><br /><br />Later this week I will discuss bringing life to pictures .. until then I am on quarters for 2 days with the flu.<br /><br />xoxo<br />Sasha Holloway<br />Tulip GirlA Soldier Girlhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04617129776215788204noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-73764865289121572752009-10-17T18:18:00.000-07:002009-10-17T18:36:43.892-07:00Card Festival...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/DanielleBanner.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 475px; height: 133px;" src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/DanielleBanner.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Hey all,<br />I hope you are enjoying your weekend! I just wanted to stop in and mention that there is an add-on kit available with the main kit called <a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/kits.shtml">Card Festival</a>. For those of you who are not into cards, don't worry, it's not JUST a card kit. This is a 12 x 12 add-on kit that goes with the main kit that you can use for pages ~ but as a <span style="font-size:100%;">bonus</span> when you purchase this kit ~ you will receive free directions and patterns for 4 cards made by me. Included are extra tips, ideas, and title/sentiment ideas as well! Let me share some of the cards and ideas with you...<br /><br />Included are some cute felt flowers and new KI Memories chipboard! Here I cut the flowers into a point to create hearts and turned the little arrow die cut edges into houses.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSwK0XdANfhqfLxVWyfVb5RcdmlsDiMe4hW12Ge86UKvOchD9ya6CG6BfWpJIbWzfyim3ogFpmm9FpXxHXnfQMtQbF1XfkXL0j7YwIlq-6abbOC0zNoGb2GjIK96hKzkfjbBPGdnfVFboT/s1600-h/home+is+where+the+heart+is+card1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSwK0XdANfhqfLxVWyfVb5RcdmlsDiMe4hW12Ge86UKvOchD9ya6CG6BfWpJIbWzfyim3ogFpmm9FpXxHXnfQMtQbF1XfkXL0j7YwIlq-6abbOC0zNoGb2GjIK96hKzkfjbBPGdnfVFboT/s400/home+is+where+the+heart+is+card1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393745394736547202" border="0" /></a>On the "Special to Me card", I wanted to use all of these patterns, since they were so adorable. That cluster of embellishments and circles is just too awesome!<br /></div><br />From Leslie's Gallery:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0CJxENKfZVDmy8jritmcSUwojrNs5-8Y3sqPaFarIro0-WeZZnFpbEEAegBm34V80Gqdfc_wulw61sIw0QCQnGKbl8Y2ow7gHvBSwNX3GRcRtuF_Myw8HnYRmCTykUS5wINj2mDFpeLI/s1600-h/leslie1_small.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 337px; height: 350px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0CJxENKfZVDmy8jritmcSUwojrNs5-8Y3sqPaFarIro0-WeZZnFpbEEAegBm34V80Gqdfc_wulw61sIw0QCQnGKbl8Y2ow7gHvBSwNX3GRcRtuF_Myw8HnYRmCTykUS5wINj2mDFpeLI/s400/leslie1_small.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393260675653249154" border="0" /></a><br />Lovely Leslie. I love the way the uneven letters echo the sentiment of the layout, plus it's a clever way to get a long title on a page. So cool!<br /><br /></div>From Kimberly's Gallery:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgKmpviwo-UxYdWUPtnNJ-KblEY73ynvtqgJAMd6anO_Zad81bVQYXYA2PYfRU1Zo7yepjKiyZwODincE7NaiSOW5y7PVzx3hMsUL7uO2qu_-V4mESKe8hG4Eilbv9fT3rA4XtZnLIQOw/s1600-h/kimberly2_small.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 350px; height: 350px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgKmpviwo-UxYdWUPtnNJ-KblEY73ynvtqgJAMd6anO_Zad81bVQYXYA2PYfRU1Zo7yepjKiyZwODincE7NaiSOW5y7PVzx3hMsUL7uO2qu_-V4mESKe8hG4Eilbv9fT3rA4XtZnLIQOw/s400/kimberly2_small.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393260662692661234" border="0" /></a><br />This layout makes me feel so calm and serene. I adore the stitched ribbon frame. And the way she cut up those clouds and used them...wow! This is one of those utterly perfect layouts. I especially love the brads drifting through the sky in the upper right corner!<br /></div><br />From my (Julie's) Gallery:<br /><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVSD1gMwTNPFrdlz_Dde0Y5u3PkJrYnu-MIq3WcT8KL364xWWIPdPYiPAMj012HqNjOH1fSGMxmf-YcBrnyAdC1JhUA53frzeFXc9I3-WZDTMkdPyRpVOReH0BGTLBZBuJHyMW6xS-TV0/s1600-h/BecomingJane-sm.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVSD1gMwTNPFrdlz_Dde0Y5u3PkJrYnu-MIq3WcT8KL364xWWIPdPYiPAMj012HqNjOH1fSGMxmf-YcBrnyAdC1JhUA53frzeFXc9I3-WZDTMkdPyRpVOReH0BGTLBZBuJHyMW6xS-TV0/s400/BecomingJane-sm.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393262973072288498" border="0" /></a>I think this is my favorite layout just because I managed to turn a problem into a solution. I really, really wanted to type my journaling. But my typewriter won't take anything wider than 8.5 inches. So, I cut out the center of the paper and cut it down so it would fit in the typewriter. I added a piece of red cardstock behind it, before I reinserted it in the center!<br /><br /></div>From Dedra's Gallery:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2UxjYr9l4FvPba02x4lI0JfyVIPk9GEsSxL0pQXhZWBiSdhDfEp9BCmuoReu6hjNxfbmtaGUQjdh3q9GOqqva-QG3oFRVA4u7OMHx40rd_MQYhdd8kDY9OefgBrxzV9bJGPUziLevi0/s1600-h/dedra1_small.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 350px; height: 346px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2UxjYr9l4FvPba02x4lI0JfyVIPk9GEsSxL0pQXhZWBiSdhDfEp9BCmuoReu6hjNxfbmtaGUQjdh3q9GOqqva-QG3oFRVA4u7OMHx40rd_MQYhdd8kDY9OefgBrxzV9bJGPUziLevi0/s400/dedra1_small.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5393260460769566962" border="0" /></a>Um...have you seen that handmade flower? I have been busy busy busy playing catch up here at Label Tulip headquarters (i.e., "home")! My 19 month old caught my Swine Flu, UGH, *and* it went into pneumonia for her. It definitely put life on hold for us for a few days -- she had to do breathing treatments to stay out of the hospital. I really appreciate everyone's well-wishes, Label Tulip has the sweetest members around! I also want to extend a special thank you to our International customers for your amazing patience in awaiting the September kits; the final ones are being sent out tomorrow and you will be receiving a tracking number (if you haven't already!). And let me just say, this "late shipping" incident was definitely "first month snafus" and it will *not* happen again. And how could it? There's no way I could keep the October Kits in my hands any longer than possible...they are SO CUTE!<br /><br />...<span style="font-weight: bold;">Card Kits</span>! To tempt your tummies and tickle your scrappy fingers on this Monday, I have a little something to share with you. As you may recall, when I first came on board Label Tulip I announced one of our new additions would be a Card Kit and October is our first month! Our Card Kits will be "lead" by Danielle, one of our most expert card-makers. Along with heading up a Card Kit club with another kit club no longer in operation, Danielle has been published <span style="font-style: italic;">numerous</span> times for her adorable yet practical cards that she hand-makes. The kits will contain *everything* you need to make many cards, and you will also be provided access to our online forum where Danielle will have pictures and instructions for many cards that you can make for yourself. The instructions are <span style="font-style: italic;">exclusive only to those that purchase the kit</span> and will be available online for access at anytime. So, for anyone feeling like you might not be very good at making cards or you need a little assistance, it's right there online anytime you need it -- the cards are yours to duplicate! One of the greatest aspects of the Card Kits is that they will be versatile enough for <span style="font-weight: bold;">scrapbooking layouts</span> as well -- the kits will contain 12x12 cardstock so that you could just as easily create a layout as you could a greeting card, but I think once you see how adorable Danielle's cards are, you're going to get card-fever!<br /><br />So, now, to the good stuff....here's a little sneak peek of what you'll be getting:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/blog/danicardsneek.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 289px;" src="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/blog/danicardsneek.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Oh my gosh, can ya stand it? And when you see how Danielle came up with such an original card, you will be amazed at how easy it will be to make your very own! I really hope you will enjoy October's Card Kit and those months to come; November will be very very special because we will be featuring a Holiday Card Kit and Danielle will have plenty of quick and easy ideas for you to hand make cards before the big holiday!<br /><br />...<span style="font-weight: bold;">Newsbreak</span>! Keep your ears open for Label Tulip on the net during November! I can't announce anything official yet, but I should in about a week be able to tell you that we'll be featured on two web interviews -- how exciting to be able to talk about my new baby to some new, and hopefully existing, listeners. <br /><br />...<span style="font-weight: bold;">Contest</span>! Don't forget that each and every month we have a "Challenge" and the winner of that challenge receives a $10 gift certificate to Label Tulip. IN ADDITION, we decided that we'd also like to feature our Challenge winner on the blog and in our newsletter as well! Look for more information in the <a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=12">Challenges forum</a>!<br /><br />In closing, I'd again like to thank everyone for such a warm welcome to Label Tulip. My first month was crazy, fun, stressful, emotional, and most of all -- exciting! I am so glad to be here and to be at your service; I appreicate your patience while I took my "baby steps" and I hope that you'll be even more happy with each kit. <br /><br />Hugs,<br />JenniferUnknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-13484307883261662212009-10-05T23:55:00.000-07:002009-10-05T23:55:33.446-07:00The haps at Label Tulip<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/ChristinaBanner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $r="true" border="0" src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/ChristinaBanner.jpg" /></a><br />

Well hello there!<br />
<br />
The beginning of the month is always an exciting time for Label Tulip. Namely because of the sneak peek for the new kit! I love seeing the new kit sneak peeks.<br />
<br />
What? You haven't seen them yet? Well, you better get on over to <a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/index.shtml">the main page</a> and check them out!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/newsletter/sneak.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img $r="true" border="0" src="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/newsletter/sneak.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Looking super cute and fun to play with!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Also, if you haven't signed up for the newsletter, I highly reccomend that you do (on the bottom of the main LT page). Our fantabulous new Tulip Girl Coordinator Julie just rocked out a new design and it looks great!<br />
<br />
Another benefit of the newsletter is that in addition to getting all the pipin hot LT news and updates, you get to find out who our Etsy Extra Artist is (a very cool one this month) as well as our guest designer!<br />
<br />
And don't forget about our monthly challenge! September's <a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4272">challenge info is here.</a> Remember you have until the 20th of October to play along. <br />
<br />
And that's the haps for today. Hope your week is going well!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-29496303442358859272009-10-03T02:29:00.001-07:002009-10-03T02:47:47.798-07:00Patience is a Virtue -- albeit a hard one to endure!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/blog/JenniferBanner.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 475px; height: 133px;" src="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/blog/JenniferBanner.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Hey there you wonderful, talented, Label Tulip ladies! I can't believe it has been so long since I have blogged because usually I blog every few days, but you know, I haven't been feeling well the past few days. I blew it off to some other health issues I have, but when I brought my daughter in to the dr today with the sniffles and a fever, I got some bad news -- I have the H1N1 virus (otherwise known as swine flu)!! Can you believe this?! Now,the good news is that it's not nearly as bad as the flu's I've had in the past, but I must say that I'm still feeling pretty crummy and my body aches.<br /><br />So, here's the good news...ALL the October merchandise except for my Prima flowers which will be here tomorrow are sitting here in my house ready to be kitted and sent to you. Gals, you are going to love love love it...we are going with a Festival theme this month and are also introducing Danielle's card kit club so it's a BIG month for us.<br /><br />That being said, it IS a big month for us! This is my first month billing/shipping and as many of you know, I've had some setbacks with shipping...not necessarily setbacks, they're just taking a lot longer than I thought. I need a thermal printer (the inkjet literally takes 10 times as long to print a shipping label)! I have posted about this in the blogs, forums, everywhere I could think of to tell you how absolutely embarrassed and wretched I feel that your kits are running about a week late this month. I promise to you, I vow, that this will not happen again. <br /><br />Speaking of setbacks, I have decided to move reveal day back 2 days. This is mostly in order to give the Tulip Girls the fair amount of time that they need to complete their amazing projects for the Gallery. I owe it to them to have enough time to work on the kits, and since I can't ship til Monday, well, I felt it was only fair. PLEASE NOTE: This will NOT affect October shipping!! It will be on time!<br /><br />It is my first month and there is so much to running a kit club it's unbelievable -- I feel like I have earned an entire college degree in one month! But I have met each challenge with vigor and confidence and I know that I can get done what needs to get done, I just need a few more days. I am so proud of my September kit, my first "little baby", but I have to tell you girls, the October kits blow it away. More paper selections, more embellies, and AMAZING Etsy artist, wow, it's just awesome. So get ready for some really fun Halloween scrappin'!!!<br /><br />Once again I want to say how AWESOME all of you have been in your kindness, prayers, and understanding regarding the shipping issues. I can't believe how amazing LT's customers are and I have really enjoyed chatting with so many of you. In closing, b/c I've eaten so much time here, don't forget a few new things: we have new tulip girls!; there's 2 contests going on right now, did you know about them? (check the blog!), and get ready for a super October!!<br /><br />As always, I'd love to hear any comments or feedback from you, feel free to email me at info@labeltulip.com<br /><br />HUGS!<br />Jennifer<br />ps -- this will be reprinted on the forums ;)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-43248279111469183242009-09-30T18:05:00.000-07:002009-09-30T19:07:31.666-07:00September gallery reveal favorites!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/CharityBanner.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 475px; height: 133px;" src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/CharityBanner.jpg" border="0" alt="" /></a><br /><br />Yes, I realize it's been over a week since the September kit gallery was revealed... A sweet lady showed me this simple way to fold a punched circle at CHA... she showed me how I could make a flower from the folded circles. I have since had this idea pop into my head. I went out the other day and got everything I needed for this project. The beauty of this project is that it's not really that difficult and it can be changed based on the holiday or season. You could make a valentine wreath, easter wreath, halloween wreath, fall, etc. by simply changing the color/pattern of the paper you choose and changing the embellishments you use... maybe some easter eggs for easter or some stars for the fourth of july!<br /><br />First, the finished product:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8PltJevbNS5fOnUdkiTcj634oxq5ArOkGsHsJDBqB5M3JrxTcecd7IUxMXT_DyL7EpfGsEyUutUgTuI_ozh8baaE_qSNGOF8XQJbC99TPX5Iwd-sYFggN0EHfhyxtqL04SlJelJZ_ZeI/s1600-h/paper+Christmas+wreath.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 399px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8PltJevbNS5fOnUdkiTcj634oxq5ArOkGsHsJDBqB5M3JrxTcecd7IUxMXT_DyL7EpfGsEyUutUgTuI_ozh8baaE_qSNGOF8XQJbC99TPX5Iwd-sYFggN0EHfhyxtqL04SlJelJZ_ZeI/s400/paper+Christmas+wreath.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386876741367636962" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbfE6ozMlyefUSKBD28p3GsYA1q5pI-_xprPrvAAVil5a0NiSgbAIJ2rjjNDGcMSMBZHLD70-0uFDnQ7v1uhqiea8qcdCCCyq8eZEN4q_ZQ2mHL8XDsI3S6TN-aXU4AfuRT-j4GTaHqeg/s1600-h/paper+Christmas+wreath+close1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 304px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbfE6ozMlyefUSKBD28p3GsYA1q5pI-_xprPrvAAVil5a0NiSgbAIJ2rjjNDGcMSMBZHLD70-0uFDnQ7v1uhqiea8qcdCCCyq8eZEN4q_ZQ2mHL8XDsI3S6TN-aXU4AfuRT-j4GTaHqeg/s400/paper+Christmas+wreath+close1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386876729875842082" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihltvNozgLMDnSMfAgtv89GySNMx8soihYh2Sw1VErpjVWtwvji01YMJYmBgCG__KnuhbDaI2Ap4jvkNBbnM1DCSDoPDUmNrvf4_CJDY_I3kshMloIpdjh_yMQwnHzc1C9UgzWgcw3Rqs/s1600-h/paper+Christmas+wreath+close2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 276px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihltvNozgLMDnSMfAgtv89GySNMx8soihYh2Sw1VErpjVWtwvji01YMJYmBgCG__KnuhbDaI2Ap4jvkNBbnM1DCSDoPDUmNrvf4_CJDY_I3kshMloIpdjh_yMQwnHzc1C9UgzWgcw3Rqs/s400/paper+Christmas+wreath+close2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386876726428630178" /></a><br /><br />OK. <br />here's what you need:<br />1. Patterned Papers (you need at least 2 sheets and possibly more if your wreath is large)<br />2. Styrofoam wreath (I used a small one - aprox 8.5 inches across). I also chose a white wreath but you could probably save time by getting one of the green colored ones.<br />3. Paint- if you need to paint your syrofoam<br />4. Hole punch (mine is 1 3/8")<br />5. Mounting double sided tape (or your favorite craft glue)<br />6. Brads, sequins or embellishments of choice<br />7. Straight pins<br />8. ribbon<br /><br />I used Piggy Tales patterned papers, Creative Imaginations brads and flowers. Making Memories leaf straight pins, WRMK glittered brads.<br /><br />Instructions:<br />I painted my white syrofoam green with pebbles inc acrylic paint and allowed it to dry completely. <br />Cut many, many circles from patterned paper using your hole punch. Then, fold them all...<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0w3Suu4OFtysQhgsr9g1mkHRkW1xA2OB_UYPxEWtYQvh5KJbhYcI3xBWNM1dodqDWIodYp_xPUn7rPW_BKzs9Rtqza1udwV7QMyRDpXn5jOXGhjmO28e7YarD67b0JMEVLO98i1OARX8/s1600-h/DSC_0020.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 303px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0w3Suu4OFtysQhgsr9g1mkHRkW1xA2OB_UYPxEWtYQvh5KJbhYcI3xBWNM1dodqDWIodYp_xPUn7rPW_BKzs9Rtqza1udwV7QMyRDpXn5jOXGhjmO28e7YarD67b0JMEVLO98i1OARX8/s400/DSC_0020.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386874765078952178" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho8iHZYTOvYgYevwIYQBJtS0NagGH5U1uFBA50lcwjdqbFiS3sc38oJQt_qOSb2XZNEYTwVFt4VYCHu7nRpePEyMfHxe2zomktlLNNXzihM-qN5RYjrrAH3a2sVqSm9_mG5mKPLDg8mYk/s1600-h/DSC_0021.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 367px; height: 348px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEho8iHZYTOvYgYevwIYQBJtS0NagGH5U1uFBA50lcwjdqbFiS3sc38oJQt_qOSb2XZNEYTwVFt4VYCHu7nRpePEyMfHxe2zomktlLNNXzihM-qN5RYjrrAH3a2sVqSm9_mG5mKPLDg8mYk/s400/DSC_0021.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386874751874562786" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifvn-fsz2lWp6C2-ZB0O8H_E8c9U-DjmDxh0h8C_ns86akpGl1dFFYDEPTrdFJMjNYJPIH2KDe4QVvLmThiA3KhG1u_yfUlCAz_CWGm964CGkdmhPr0OUpXOAqIjsW6UL0VRJyaSMTThQ/s1600-h/DSC_0022.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 244px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifvn-fsz2lWp6C2-ZB0O8H_E8c9U-DjmDxh0h8C_ns86akpGl1dFFYDEPTrdFJMjNYJPIH2KDe4QVvLmThiA3KhG1u_yfUlCAz_CWGm964CGkdmhPr0OUpXOAqIjsW6UL0VRJyaSMTThQ/s400/DSC_0022.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5386874744878257730" /></a><br /><br />If you want to hang your wreath with a ribbon then start by tying and securing your ribbon around your wreath.<br />Cut your mounting tape into thin strips (I found that the scotch mounting strips I was using were too thick). Place the folded circles inside one another and mount onto foam wreath. Cover the entire wreath with folded circles as seen. <br /><br />Next, embellish away. I found that I needed to add a bit of adhesive to the base of some of my brads to make sure they stayed in place. Then I used straight pins to pin my "poinsettia" flowers in place up at the top. Hang and enjoy!<br /><br />As far as storage goes- My wreath is small enough that I carefully placed it in a gallon ziploc storage bag. Just make sure the wreath isn't placed under something that could squish the leaves.<br /><br />Be sure to show me your creation if you choose to make one of these!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-7279683408489975062009-09-28T05:20:00.000-07:002009-09-28T08:41:04.240-07:00Card Kits are coming to Label Tulip!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/DanielleBanner.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 475px; height: 133px;" src="http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/aliscrap23/DanielleBanner.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Hi everyone!<p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">As you may have heard, Jennifer and I have decided to put together<span style="font-size:180%;"> <span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-weight: bold;"><br /></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:180%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">card kits</span></span> that you can purchase monthly here at Label Tulip! <br />
Hi everyone!! <br />
I'm just here today to show you how much FUN I had using September's Label Tulip <br />
kits with my favorite embellishment right now....spray on shimmer, paint on shimmer...<br />
<a href="http://www.shimmerzpaints.com/">SHIMMERZ</a>! <br />
<br />
For instance...this layout:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_v6BUqMx6mm0/Sr8TNBNXBRI/AAAAAAAADF4/MW2vzBSIDlQ/s1600-h/LTSeptLeslie2.1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" iq="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_v6BUqMx6mm0/Sr8TNBNXBRI/AAAAAAAADF4/MW2vzBSIDlQ/s400/LTSeptLeslie2.1.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I cut the large butterfly from the Hambly paper (in the add on kit) and <br />
used temporary adhesive to hold it down as I sprayed Shimmerz (spritz)<br />
on top of it, leaving the butterfly image. I sprayed the entire kraft (packaging)<br />
paper and let it dry. (it dries really fast!) then I traced around the butterfly<br />
and used it as my journal box. I also painted Shimmerz paint around the edges<br />
for dimensional effect.<br />
<br />
In this project:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_v6BUqMx6mm0/Sr8Ta2RZrOI/AAAAAAAADGI/2bi7smAtDn4/s1600-h/LTSeptLeslieframe1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" iq="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_v6BUqMx6mm0/Sr8Ta2RZrOI/AAAAAAAADGI/2bi7smAtDn4/s400/LTSeptLeslieframe1.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I sprayed Shimmerz Spritz on the white frame I used for my fall art piece.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">and for this layout:<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_v6BUqMx6mm0/Sr8TQT6fiCI/AAAAAAAADGA/3uebSONnSos/s1600-h/LTSeptLeslie4.1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" iq="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_v6BUqMx6mm0/Sr8TQT6fiCI/AAAAAAAADGA/3uebSONnSos/s400/LTSeptLeslie4.1.jpg" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I used Shimmerz paint to paint my letters and sprayed Spritz on top for more of a "shimmer" feel.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The gorgeous kit this month was so fun to play with and "Shimmer(z)" right UP!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I think I **might** have heard there **might** be some fun tutorials coming up?<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hmm.....<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">On that note...I hope your have a very Shimmer(z)-ized day as you tiptoe <br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">through Label Tulip...<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I hope you all are having a GREAT weekend with your friends and family. After the torrential downpours of rain we've had lately, we actually have a beautiful, sunny, not-too-hot day here in Austin. Of course my daughter wants to go see "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs", but hey, at least it's family time!<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Our New Design Team Coordinator!</span><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/designers/julie.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 230px; height: 280px;" src="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/designers/julie.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>As you know, I announced our new Tulip Girls on the 24th, but mysteriously, there was no mention of our new Design Team Coordinator. ;-) Well, that's because our new DTC deserves her own special day, dontcha think? Our previous DTC, Holly Hanks, has left Label Tulip after a year and a half to pursue some of her other interests, but I am pleased to announce that our *new* DTC is none other than Ms Julie Fei-Fan Balzer! I am sooooo excited and proud to have Julie as our new Coordinator, she's just the perfect fit. Julie hails from NYC and is one busy lady -- check out <a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/designers.shtml"></a><a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/designers.shtml">her bi</a><a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/designers.shtml">o</a> to read about all the amazing projects she's involved with on a daily basis. Due to our mutual love of the theater, arts, and scrapbooking, it makes me sad that we don't live closer because I know we'd be hanging out all the time! I have no idea how she finds time to scrap, but her designs are so edgy, original, and gorgeous. Julie has definitely earned this title and I hope all will give her a warm welcome as she "moves up" in the Label Tulip team. I am truly honored that she has accepted the position and am so lucky to have her!<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Status on Kit Shipping</span><br />I also wanted to take a moment to update you on the September kits. Normally, as our<a href="http://www.labeltulip.com/schedule.shtml"> schedule </a>states, we ship anywhere from the 20th-24th of each month. Well gals, I have to tell you, out of *everything* that I have learned in the past month, billing and shipping are by far the hardest part of running Label Tulip. The kits will be shipped out no later than Monday (some are on their way out the door right now) and should arrive by the end of the week for sure. I really appreciate your patience and understanding during this crazy first month of owning Label Tulip. I want you to know I've had several moments where I've sat in front of the computer and just cried out of frustration; I feel so bad that the kits are late because I pride myself in delivering the highest quality merchandise in the highest quality way. I promise next month everything will be running smooth as buttah and your kits will be shipped during normal shipping dates. If you have any questions at all, you are always more than welcome to email me at info@labeltulip.com.<br /><br />In closing I'd like to say that the October merchandise has begun to arrive and you all are going to be so THRILLED at what I have in store for you. There are 4, yes 4, different paper vendors in the main kit and the Etsy Extra has been handmade *especially* for our kit. And wait til you see the Card Kit that Dani is putting together -- to die for! It's so hard to keep the secret! I hope you all have a great weekend.<br /><br />Hugs,<br />JenniferUnknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2686553678440364346.post-75884436508776339192009-09-24T15:48:00.000-07:002009-09-25T00:11:59.130-07:00Announcing the New Tulip Girls!
<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/blog/JenniferBanner.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 475px; height: 133px;" src="http://www.labeltulip.com/images/blog/JenniferBanner.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>
<br />Yes, it's the moment you've been waiting for! Our new Label Tulip Design Team members have been chosen. Boy, was it a tough job! We had a total of 189 entries; unbelievable! I saw some of the most beautiful layouts ever, and it was soooooo hard in making this choice. In fact, even though we only had 2 spots open, I decided to create a third position because I liked one of our entrants so much and thought she'd be perfect to help me out. In addition to the 2 members that I will introduce you to below, we have a third member coming on as our Marketing Coordinator. This position was created so that the individual with the job can help spread the message of Label Tulip ("Your Scrapbook Home"), recruit new members to our message forums, assist with advertising, contests, and all in all in be a communication source for the Label Tulip team. I realized after owning the company for less than a month that I was going to need some serious help! I want to be able to communicate every day with all of our great subscribers and forum members, but I was running so low on time and energy because I was also busy spreading the Label Tulip message. With this new position, I'm now able to focus more on being here for YOU, our Label Tulip fans and customers. So, without further adieu, here are the new team members.......

I have a wonderful hubby who's put up with me for almost 14 years, a son Austin (see you can't take the Texas out of the girl) who's 10 and a daughter Georgia who is 8. I also have a very stubborn schnoodle named Lily. I have been scrapbooking for almost 10 years, and love what this hobby has become to me. I use it not only to preserve my memories, but also as a creative outlet, and I can't imagine going a day without it. I have met some wonderful people and made some amazing friendships through scrapbooking and I am truly thankful for that.</div> <div> </div> <div>When I am not scrapping, which is not very often, I teach a preschool class a few days a week. I am addicted to coffee, seriously addicted, and I spend way too much time on the computer. I am thrilled to be a part of this adventure with Jennifer and the Tulip Girls and can't wait for all the fabulous things that Label Tulip is going to bring.
